Parts and controls of the Devanti AF-K-E902-BK 8.5L air fryer
The basket, drip tray, housing, air vents and LCD controls.

Remove all packaging and clean the frying basket and drip tray before cooking. Position the appliance on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface with clear airflow around the air inlet and outlet. The manual specifies keeping at least 30 cm from walls, furniture and flammable materials.

Fit the frying basket securely into the drip tray. Do not fill the tray with oil or fat, and do not place anything on top of the air fryer while it is operating. Connect it directly to an earthed wall socket; the manual advises against extension cords and external timers.

How to use the controls

Press the power button, choose a suitable temperature, and preheat for about five minutes. Pull out the drip tray by the handle, add food to the basket without exceeding the maximum line, then slide the assembled basket and tray fully back into the housing.

Choose a preset or adjust the time and temperature manually, then start cooking. The control panel includes temperature decrease and increase, menu, power, keep-warm, and time decrease and increase controls. The keep-warm function is marked for up to two hours.

Check food during cooking and shake or turn it when needed. Put the hot tray on a heat-resistant surface before operating the basket-release mechanism. Steam can escape when the tray is opened, so keep hands and face clear.

Cooking tips

  • Do not overcrowd the basket. Smaller batches generally cook more evenly and allow hot air to circulate around the food.
  • A small amount of oil on fresh potatoes or crumbed food can improve crispness, but oil should be applied to the food rather than poured into the drip tray.
  • Times are a starting point. Food size, starting temperature and batch weight can change the result, so check doneness before serving.

Cleaning and storage

Switch off, unplug and allow the appliance to cool completely. The manual states that the unit and its parts are not dishwasher-proof. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth and wash the basket and drip tray in warm water with neutral detergent and a non-abrasive sponge.

For stuck-on residue, soak the removable parts for about ten minutes before cleaning. Never immerse the electrical housing, cord or plug in water. Dry all parts before reassembly and storage.

Troubleshooting

  • No power: check the wall socket, plug and selected cooking time.
  • Food is not cooked: reduce the batch size, increase the temperature or add cooking time.
  • Food cooks unevenly: shake or turn ingredients partway through cooking.
  • Food is not crisp: lightly coat suitable food with oil and avoid overfilling.
  • The tray will not slide in: check that the basket is seated correctly, and the food is below the maximum line.
  • White smoke: fatty food or old grease in the tray can produce smoke. Stop safely, let the appliance cool and clean away residue.
